Description
……………. SORRY, RESERVED FOR STEVE………….
As far as replicas go, I guess that this is about as close as you’ll get to a genuine R90S
. This is a June ‘76 R90/ 6, and fitted with a genuine (May ‘76) R90S engine by Motorworks.
I first acquired this from its owner of about 14 years in standard R90/ 6 trim. Invoices show significant maintenance, including, gearbox, clutch, electrics, new Dellorto carbs, electronic ignition, twin disc conversion, wheels rebuilt with stainless spokes, new tyres, etc.
To complete its “replica” status, the bike has now been fitted with a genuine R90S body set, including that unique R90S tank, fairing, seat, etc. all pro finished in TT Smoke. The paintwork is unmarked. The bike is currently having a major service, including timing chain replacement, valve clearances, plugs, carb balance etc, and will be available soon.
You may have seen this one on display at the recent Stafford Classic Show, where it was nominated as one of the bikes ClassicBike Guide magazine would have taken home. Really nice, affordable alternative to a genuine R90S.
Just ask if you’d like more detail, pics, or a start up video.
Good selection of Airheads available at the moment, which I’ll be advertising as we go into the new, and hopefully drier, season. Including R60/ 5, R75/ 5, R75/ 6, R90S replica, R90/ S, R100S, R100CS, and even a Krauser MKM 1000.
As ever, viewings welcome and encouraged, and YOUR Airhead BMW always wanted in part exchange, here at JTR Classic BMW, Washington, North East England.
