Description
The last version of the Bentley Azure was first introduced at the IAA in 2005. Six months previous a concept car, already close to final specification, by the name of Bentley Arnage (a famous bend on the Le Mans circuit) drophead coupe was presented at the LA Auto Show. The Azure is based on the modified Bentley Arnage platform and uses the engine of the Arnage R. With a base price of around 550’000 francs, the Azure was, next to the Rolls-Royce Phantom drophead, the most expensive series-produced cabriolet in the world. Despite this, between 2006 and 2009 a respectable 585 examples found willing buyers. Our Azure of the model year 2009 was delivered through Bentley Geneva on the 28th of November 2008 to its proud first owner. Painted in “Magnolia” with a light Connolly leather interior in “Cotswold” the car boasts, besides to the usual luxury features, the optional chromed 19-inch rims, park distance control and a stainless-steel radiator grill, all resulting in a new price of around 580’000 francs. In June 2014 with 27, 500 kilometres driven, the Azure was taken over by an enthusiast and used over the following years for pleasant summer outings. After his passing, the noble Brit was taken over by the inheritor and in 2018 and 39’500 kilometres driven, sold to the last owner. With three owners, now 48’000 kilometres and a full service booklet, the Bentley presents itself in very good and carefully maintained original condition. The last MOT was completed in December 2024 allowing the Azure to be registered to a new owner immediately.
