Description
Just arrived at South Norfolk Classics
1953 Austin A30 AS3 finished in Sandringham Fawn with a cream roof and Tan interior.
The AS3 is a very rare early pre production 4 door saloon which has a number of differences to a later standard A30
Some of the differences include smaller front grill with separate Austin badge, round speedo and different dashboard, different seats and door cards.
Fuel filler location on the O/ S rear wing rather than on the rear panel, different seats and boot hinge mechanism.
Sensibly fitted with a later ( identical looking ) 950 cc A series engine rather than the standard 803cc.
The Semaphore indicators are fully working and have been concerted with LED bulbs which flash.
Built in 1953 but as one of the earliest prototype four door cars it was kept as a demonstration model and not registered until 1955.
Restored around 25 years ago but had minimal use since and still in very nice order.
Still retaining its original desirable Hertfordshire registration number and covered a reputedly correct 78000 miles from new this lovely Austin would make a fabulous highly useable and quirky classic or would grace any private collection .
