Here’s an exciting car. It’s a 2010 Porsche 997. 2 Turbo, finished in Basalt Black Metallic with a full black leather interior.
Being a Gen2 997, it has the later-style lights, and updated interior, plus the all-new Direct Fuel Injection engine and PDK transmission.
This example has a great specification. Features include Sport Chrono Package Plus, 16-way Adaptive Sports seats with driver’s memory, heated seats, Bose Sound Pack, PCM3 (Porsche Communication Management with sat-nav and Bluetooth phone connectivity), rear Park Assist, auto-dip rear-view mirror, paddleshifters, Litronic PDLS (Porsche Dynamic Light System), Alcantara headlining, PADM (Porsche Active Drivetrain Mounts), PTV (Porsche Torque Vectoring), aluminium handbrake lever, rear wiper, and a 12-volt socket in the passenger footwell.
Sport Chrono Package Plus is particularly interesting. As well as the timer atop the dash, there are advanced timing options via the PCM screen but more useful in daily use are the Sport and Sport Plus buttons. Press Sport and the throttle response is sharpened and the PDK transmission holds lower gears for longer, to give a sportier drive. Sport Plus does the same but even more so. The suspension is also firmed up (although this can be overridden). It’s a desirable and worthwhile option.
The Porsche has a well-documented service history, with a stamped book and plenty of invoices. The last service was done by us in March 2024 at 70, 278 miles, so it won’t need another until March 2026. At the same time, new rear brake discs and pads were fitted, front ones were changed the previous year.
