The earliest types of the RM80 junior level moto-cross machine were an air-cooled two-stroke producing a healthy 14. 5hp @ 11, 000 rpm when launched in 1978. Induction was both piston and reed valve, and although fast had a fairly fearsome power-band. By the early 1980s the model acquired liquid cooling and more power, this time with a little more flexibility. The model evolved over the years, and was extremely popular with junior riders, but was replaced in 2002 by the RM85.
This bike has come as part of a private collection of bikes and the vendor has stated that it has had a full engine re-build but had hardly been run since so will require running in.
