Description
1968 Aston Martin DB6 Mark 1 Coupe - first registered in UK on 1st January 1968.
Aston Martin DB6, Chassis number DB63323R, made by Aston Martin is finished in a colour called 'Platinum' of which, only 76 cars were ever painted using this colour. The interior of the car is finished with a black leather interior. This particular DB6 is a genuine UK RHD car that presents itself extremely well displaying only 6800 miles since a full mechanical and internal restoration by Trinity Engineering. The restoration work with invoices totalling in excess of £100K was undertaken and completed by Trinity Engineering during 2016 -2017 and with no expense spared. Invoices detailing all the work carried out during its restoration are too vast to list but suffice to say, everything has been either replaced as per factory specification or restored to an extremely high level making this DB6 even better then it was when first built and a true joy to drive!
Some notable and sensible upgrades applied during the restoration include, Hydraulic power steering making driving this car effortless. Another sensible upgrade is air conditioning which is a delight to have on warm sunny days. Apart from these minor yet important upgrades, the car is totally original and correct in period presentation with exception to the radio currently in place.
This car has come from a deceased estate and has not been used for the past 2 years. Mileage reflects this using past MOT history as a reference and past restoration invoices too. The bodywork is is in very good condition but would benefit from some minor paintwork on the bonnet and a few other parts on the car to really lift it even further. However, these imperfections do not detract from the serious good looks this car has today and the smile it brings to your face and others that look and admire! Its truly superb!
All bright work is excellent including the chrome wire wheels the car sits on today. Any inspection is welcome and delivery can arranged nationally and internationally at additional cost. Any questions about this vehicle, please contact me directly and i will answer you promptly.
The Aston Martin DB6 is a grand tourer sports car made by British car manufacturer Aston Martin that was produced from September 1965 to January 1971. The "DB" designation is from the initials of David Brown who built up the company from 1947 onwards. The DB6 succeeded the Aston Martin DB5 and featured improved aerodynamics and specification over its predecessor.
The DB6 continued with then high-tech Armstrong Selectaride cockpit-adjustable rear shock absorbers as available on the DB5. Other highlights include adopting front-door quarter windows, an oil-cooler air scoop low on the front valance, quarter-bumpers at each corner, revised tail-lamp clusters. Additionally, the spoiler affected the overall proportions of the DB6, with an increase in length by approximately two inches. Other notable changes:
Roof line raised by two inches improving headroom especially for rear seat passengers
Genuinely useful leg room for rear passengers
More steeply raked albeit taller windscreen
Split front and rear bumpers
Standard chrome wire wheels on bias-ply whitewall tyres [in USA market]
Optional power steering
Optional air conditioning
Standard ZF five-speed manual unit or a BorgWarner three-speed automatic gearbox available at no extra cost
