Description
Hello and welcome to the sale of this absolutely stunning Porsche Boxster.
This is a 2004 model car, registered early 2004 on a 53 plate, so one of the very last 986. The car has spent the majority of it's life in the channel islands, hence the low mileage of just 40k. It has had just two lady owners, and comes with two keys, the original book pack and manuals, and is even still on the Jacksons Channel Island number plates. It has clearly been very well looked after with 12 service stamps in the book from a combination of main agents and German / performance specialists. I have just had it fully inspected along with a major service, including 6x spark plugs, brake fluid service and new front brake discs and pads. The workshop noted it is in great condition underneath with no oil leaks.
It is finished in the very rare Orient red metallic, with a lovely contrasting grey leather interior and grey convertible hood in good working order. It also has the sought after BOSE sound system upgrade, Porsche crests in the headrests, and factory carpet mats.
The bodywork is in excellent condition overall with no major damage, dings, dents, scuffs or scrapes and retains a deep shine. You may of course find one or two tiny marks here and there under very close scrutiny but nothing it being over 20 years old wouldn't explain! Aside from the colour, the other thing that makes this car stand out from the crowd are the stunning Genuine Porsche BBS 18" Sport Classic II split rim alloy wheels. I have just had them professionally refurbished, and I chose to have them finished in the correct 'Porsche Titan grey', with a diamond cut rim, and I am very pleased with the results. More often seen on a 911, these staggered fitment wheels really add presence and the 4 brand new tyres I have just had fitted are sure to help the roadholding.
On the road the car stops, starts and drives very well indeed, with no knocks or bangs or any other concerns. The 3. 2 flat six engine produces no rattles or smoke on start up, and sounds sporty under acceleration without being intrusive, whilst pulling strongly through the rev range, as it should. One of the main features of this particular car is of course the desirable 6 speed manual gearbox, which has a pleasing and positive gear change and a smooth clutch operation.
To sum up, this is a well kept, low mileage, low owner example of this iconic mid engined German sports car, with a superb colour, engine, gearbox and wheel combination, and I am sure the new owner will be very pleased indeed.
