Debuting at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Ferrari 458 succeeded the F430 as the company's premier mid-engine V8 supercar. An entirely new chassis and an updated variant of the F136 V8, now direct injected and displacing 4. 5 liters for 562hp, dramatically increased performance and cornering agility over its predecessor. A first for the company, only one transmission was available: a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. A computer-controlled differential, magnetorheological suspension, and advanced traction/ stability control further improved the new car's driving dynamics.
