Description
Finished in red complimented with contrasting black interior drives very well indeed along with being very usable in regular use she has been with the Current owner 19 years, restored in 1991with a vast vast history file she has. Some age , related wear kind of charming just as it is presents very well, recent cylinder head rebuild with hardened valve seats a much loved car. This MGB Roadster was first registered in Coventry in July 1977, the V5C recording five former keepers. From 1987 -- 2005 it was owned by a London gent who gifted it to his friend, the current owner, back in 2005. It comes with two huge files of invoices dating back to the mid-1980s to show regular upkeep which will take the new owner many hours to digest. It underwent an extensive restoration in 1991 when the engine was removed and reconditioned while the body was fully restored and repainted with many new panels. Since 2005 the car has been in almost daily use in tip-top running order by Plough Garage of Pontesbury with fortunes spent on maintenance. In fact many old MOTs show that the car has covered some 28, 500 miles during the prior 19-year ownership. it has proved very reliable, including a trip to Monaco and back in 2017 with no issues whatsoever. Recent expenditure of note includes new rear suspension springs and a front tyre was renewed less than 300 miles ago. The cylinder head was rebuilt in June 2022 and fitted with new valves, guides and stem seals, hardened to make them suitable for unleaded fuel, all the important aspects seem good and it looks reassuringly straight and solid thanks to regular wax oiling. starting promptly and running very sweetly as we have driven it ourselves with healthy 50psi oil pressure.
