Extensive service history
After spearheading the Aston Martin V8's transformation for the 1990s, the Virage name was dropped during 1994, its place as the 'standard' model being taken by the Vantage-style V8 Coupé. Introduced at the Geneva Salon in March 1996, the new V8 Coupé adopted all of the Vantage's muscular styling cues but retained the normally aspirated, 5. 3-litre engine of the Virage and delivered similar performance. The model formed part of the Aston Martin range for just three years and is one of the rarer members of the modern V8 family.
Finished in Porsche Nachtblau metallic with blue-piped Parchment leather interior, this automatic transmission V8 Coupé was first registered as 'P993 KEC' on 8th May 1997 and later in its life temporarily carried the registrations 'BJT 1' and 'VV 5402' respectively. While with the first owner the engine was rebuilt under warranty as a service action by Aston Martin in January 2001 at 4, 027 miles, the car remains matching engine and chassis numbers. Later that same year the car passed to the second owner, Mr G Vitas of Peterborough. While in Mr Vitas's care the car was serviced and MoT'd by Aston Martin at Newport Pagnell.
Third owner Mr K Dare of Axminster purchased the V8 on 7th April 2005 at 8, 826 miles, and while in his ownership the car was regularly MoT'd by Shute Garage, Axminster. Following Mr Dare's death, 'P993 KEC' was offered for sale at Bonhams' auction at Aston Martin Works Service in May 2012 (Lot 235) where it was purchased by a member of the Kuwaiti Royal Family, the recorded mileage at that time being 11, 656. Our vendor purchased the Aston in September 2022 and reimported it into the UK (documents on file). Since its return to this country the car has been extensively recommissioned by Aston Martin Works, Newport Pagnell; their related invoice for £14, 000 is on file and the car also comes with extensive service history (bills, MoTs, etc) dating back some 20 years. Additional paperwork includes copies of the factory Car Record Card and HMRC NOVA acknowledgement letter confirming VAT and duty paid.
