Description
Brief
Viewing by appointment only.
It is no secret that we are a big fan of the Lamborghini Diablo, in all of its iterations.
This is the third Lamborghini Diablo we have proudly had through our doors, which is also the lowest mileage example we have had in our showroom.
Only 572 miles from new!
One of only 42qty last of line models – VT 6. 0 SE
Brand new tyres fitted (originals are still with the car)
Freshly detailed & ceramic coated
Unmarked bodywork
Unmarked wheels
Drives absolutely like new
A real collector grade example of one of the most iconic cars of the era, arguably the ultimate poster car.
History
Unveiled in 2001, at the Geneva Motor Show, the final run of 42 cars (with car #42 now in the Lamborghini Museum).
These SE (Special Edition) versions of the already massively updated VT 6. 0 were available finished in Oro Elios or Marrone Eklipsis to represent sunrise & sunset.
The 6. 0 SE featured various mechanical upgrades, as well as a new magnesium intake manifold, short-ratio transmission, special upholstery treatment, Lamborghini-badged brake calipers, comprehensive road map software in the navigation system & enhanced carbon fibre interior trim.
This right-hand drive SE #9 of the 42 produced & is finished in ‘Oro Elios’ or Gold Helios.
It was delivered new to Hong Kong, where it formed part of a significant Collection, being stored & maintained to the highest standards prior to being imported into the UK (with all taxes paid) Benefiting from a thorough inspection/ service at Lamborghini Tunbridge Wells (27th December 2023) & a thorough check over within our own workshops, where we have carried out the fitment of new correct tyres front & rear (original tyres remain with the car of course), as well as minor maintenance such as new genuine luggage cover struts, new genuine rear Lamborghini badge, new genuine engine cover release handle & a full detail including ceramic coating.
Body & Paintwork
As can be seen from the pictures, the colour looks absolutely superb especially having benefitted from being detailed & ceramic coated.
The Oro Elios paint presents exactly as you would hope with just 572 miles from new.
All panels & paintwork are of course original, no damage to any of the panels at all.
Being the 6. 0L variant, almost all bodywork is carbon fibre & the weave is still visible through the Oro Elios paintwork as it should be.
All wheels are also unmarked, as you would fully expect & they all proudly wear new correct tyres.
Lights, glass, badges all present as new.
This is a real collector grade quality example from top to bottom.
Interior & Trim
As per the exterior, this Diablo is in superb condition inside with little to zero evidence of any wear.
With only 572 miles from new, it is as you would expect.
Everything works as it should do, including the all important front lift system.
All switchgear operates correctly & presents like a new car.
The colour combination, whilst on paper sounds a little strange actually works beautifully & really helps set this 2001 Diablo apart from other supercars of the era.
Engine
The famed Lamborghini V12, which saw many iterations over the years.
Capacity upped from 5. 7L to 6. 0L for this variant of Diablo, with power up to 550bhp.
This, along with the carbon fibre bodywork & various other weight saving parts fitted, meant that the VT 6. 0 SE could accelerate from 0-60mph in under 4 seconds (!) & accelerate onwards to over 200mph. Still impressive numbers 23 years later!
Obviously the car runs as it should do & is mighty impressive on the road with the most glorious of V12 noises to compliment it.
The engine compartment presents beautifully as can be seen from the pictures.
Running Gear
Of course we have not missed the running gear, whilst in our workshop being checked top to bottom, the running gear was all cleaned (although you could argue it was not required).
As such all running gear presents very much ‘like new’, beautiful from top to bottom, this Diablo is surely one of very few worldwide in such condition.
