Description
The Lotus Esprit (known internally as the M70 project) was launched in 1976 in response to management's idea of a 2-seater Berlinetta with a central rear engine. Giorgetto Giugiaro's work at Italdesign was responsible for the Esprit's remarkable design, which was followed by S1, S2, S3 and S4 versions, as well as the V8, which ended production of this legend in 2004, making it one of the longest-lived sports cars ever produced. The model shown here is an October 1994 Serie 4, with the superb British Racing Green colour combination on a beige leather interior. The S4 is powered by one of the latest evolutions of the in-house 2. 2-litre in-line 4-cylinder engine, fed by a water-cooled turbo and delivering no less than 268 bhp to the rear wheels! The car was serviced by official dealer Thierry Verhiest in Ostend, and sold by him in November 2018 to its current owner. The latter, a true enthusiast, has stored it in a private garage and has always entrusted it to a Lotus specialist for maintenance, the last - major - service having been carried out in October this year. The following work was carried out on the car in 2020: Replacement of front and rear brake calipers | new front and rear shock absorbers | new clutch cylinder Interested?
