Launched in 1955, Chief Designer John Blatchley’s 'S Series' proved a major success for Crewe but by 1962 sales had slowed, thus Crewe’s in house design team created a refreshed look for the S3 which happily revitalised its appeal.
The most striking redesign was the switch to four headlights instead of two, a slight revised grill plus some mechanical tweaks too, whilst inside, the front seats were separated and individually upholstered.
Purchased by our discerning client from P&A Wood in 1991 for £33, 000 with just 39, 287 miles, which at the time was a substantial sum for this model, evidently making it a very superior example.
Pleasingly nothing other than an increase in mileage (which now stands at 74, 500) has changed..... in fact, Ranmore Service & Engineering who have had the pleasure of looking after this particular S3 for more than 25 years, have been given literally 'carte blanche' to look after it over this time.
Happily there is an detailed invoice trail since the original purchase from P&A Wood which allows us to verify & qualify this as an exceptional car.
Beautifully presented in Tudor grey over shell grey with a light grey leather interior along perfect veneers.
The substantial service records show extensive and thorough maintenance plus sympathetic body repairs too over the years.
Driving-wise, the consensus here at Ranmore is that its amongst the very best we have driven.
As an aside, the overseas owner has only entrusted the driving of his Bentley since 1991 to his longstanding chauffeur & whom still devotedly comes monthly to take her for a drive!
In summary, a superior S3 in a very appealing colour scheme that has the benefit of continuous and correct maintenance by marque experts.
