Introduced by Yamaha in 1984 off the back of their successful GP results with Kenny Roberts
The bike was basically a detuned and more approachable version of the YZR500 race bike
Fitted with a powerful four-cylinder 500cc 2-stroke engine with Yamaha's variable exhaust port timing YPVS system
Race suspension, lightweight and track-inspired handling made the bike a fearsome machine
This, matching-numbers UK-registered from new example, is presented in mostly original and unrestored condition
In running order with a current MOT until May 2025
