FOR SALE
1991 Renault 5 Campus - 1. 1 - 4 Speed
Starts/ Drives but M. O. T has recently lapsed (3/ 11/ 24) - so will require a trailer to be taken away
Up until recently the car was used daily commuting to work, other than the contact breaker point adjusting screw loosening over time on the odd occasion (causing the car to run lumpy), the car drove fine for it's age - I do have a spare set of points just haven't fitted them
As the pictures suggest, the car will require welding prior to an M. O. T, I did start addressing this as can be seen in the last two pictures, I have welding in two patches, one in the right hand corner of the bonnet and the other at the front of the driver's side wheel arch
However, due to a lack of space and time to complete the additional welding, I have decided to put the car up for sale in hope someone will buy it with the time etc to take on the project, alternatively, this may be great for someone who already has a Renault 5 and needs some parts
Other than the visible rust which can be seen in the pictures, the car does have the following issues -
The driver's seat and passenger seat are wobbly, the mounting nuts have broken free, they're encased in the floor pan so they don't fully come out, but will require cutting out/ welding to put them right
The bulkhead above the battery has suffered from the seals around the windscreen perishing (as shown in pictures), and some rust holes have started to appear behind the dash
The driver's side front jacking point will need reinforcing, it looks as if in the past someone has quite badly dented the jacking point, fortunately this area is doubled skinned and hasn't damaged the floor pan, but corrosion has set in on the first skin, and wouldn't be safe for a jack to be placed there anymore
The rear washer doesn't work, may be a blocked pipe
I have tried to be as honest as possible in the above description, to give someone an idea of the condition of the vehicle, as mentioned instead of being a candidate for going back on the road, it may be great for an enthusiast who is in need of some spares, although I don't think it is impossible to get the car back on the road, it just needs someone who is looking for a winter project
