Description
THIS 1961 Minor convertible - a correct MAT chassis number and therefore a factory built drop head - had just two owners from new until I sold it to its third owner two years ago and now it has come back to me. It has covered just 31, 636 miles. The original owner kept the old girl for the first 23 years of its life, covering close on 30, 000 miles down on the south coast. The second owner - a lady local to me - purchased her in 1984 and in 38 years of ownership, she informs me that she has covered somewhere in the region of 1, 000 miles! So, low owners and low miles. What's not to like. She is very much an original classic however she comes with all the features of the early Moggies prior to 1963 when they were "modernised". For example, we have the famous "clap hand" wipers, leather seats, light bronze speedo calibrated to 80 mph, early switch gear including pull start, small rear lights, twin glove boxes etc. She drives superbly and is one of the best 950cc Minors I have driven. Bags of pep and with little, indeed probably nothing, in the way of shake, rattle and roll on the road! She is a bonny thing - by the way the burgundy coloured hood is in excellent condition - and a real eye catcher. Underside looks original and strong. MoTs going back 16 years fail to show any problems relating to structure. She could be tidied up a little around the edges with a weekend's fettling. Front seats have been re-trimmed and the rear seat would respond to some leather feed.

I don't sell "second hand" cars; I sell extremely old vehicles which are, in the main, motoring antiques. Viewing is always encouraged so that you can see what you are getting. Your opinion and expectations may vary from mine. Then again, you could be in total agreement as the majority of my customers have been for the past 26 years. At the moment, the youngest vehicle in stock is 33-years-old and the oldest is 90!
Thanks, Martin.
