Description
1997 Volkswagen Polo 1. 4 "Harlekin" Replica
Nearly three decades ago the Polo MK3 Harlequin went into production, but it was never actually planned by Volkswagen. It was created as a sales tool to show available colours and modularity, however when the public first saw these vehicles at motor shows they were disappointed that it wasnt going to be available to buy. With this unexpected demand Volkswagen decided to produce a run of 1000 Harlequins in 1995, eventually producing 3800 over the course of a three year run. They were badged as "Harlekin" the German translation of Harlequin
This car is a tribute to those 3800 original cars of which few remain. It has been done very well and with particular attention to detail, it originally started life as a White Polo 6N1. The panels were removed, stripped and repainted in the correct colours - Chagall Blue, Flash Red, Ginster Yellow and Pistachio Green accurate to an original example. Both the insides and outsides of each panel were painted in the correct colours and even the tow hoop on the rear is the right colour. Finished off with the correct "Harlekin" sticker on the tailgate
The interior is in good original condition and is unmodified. Even still has the original VW logo floor mats!
The wheels were recently refurbished and are a good complement to the car, a set of 90's 15" Dotz racing wheels with good tyres. It is lowered all round, i believe on lowering springs
The car runs and drives very well as you would expect. It has just had a pair of brand new front wishbones, a new exhaust backbox and a service. It has only covered 58k miles and has a fresh MOT with 12 months remaining.
Its definitely a bit of fun to have around and gets a lot of attention. Ready for a new owner to enjoy
