1959 Austin Healey 3000 MKI BT7 UK RHD
JME Healeys restored 3000 MKI BT7. Completed in August 2024.
314AOK is an original UK home market Austin Healey 3000 MKI BT7, built on the 1st October 1959 and first registered in Birmingham on the 1st January 1960.
This car was in a very sorry condition when purchased in June 2020 from a deceased estate. The restoration commenced in early 2023. A complete new inner structure was assembled on a new chassis to replace the original rotten structure. The car was then restored using both of its original aluminium shrouds and all original steel outer body panels. Body modifications include a JME spec deep gloss black front grille assembly and bonnet breathers. The car has been painted inhouse to the highest standard in our chosen colour of BMW Sage Green.
The engine has been built to fast road specification. Steel crankshaft and conrods. Crank super damper, High compression pistons. Racing aluminium cylinder head. Ultimate fast road camshaft. Lightweight flywheel & electronic ignition. Larger HD8 carburettors have been fitted onto the fast flow inlet manifold that has been ported to match the cylinder head and JME’s fast flow inlet air filters and stacks have been installed. This engine specification is producing just shy of 215bhp. The tubular exhaust manifold and side exit silencer provide the distinctive sound of a competition Healey. A Large core radiator and electric cooling fan on thermostatic switch have also been installed to assist with modern day traffic.
A 5-speed gearbox conversion upgrade replaces the original 4-speed side change unit. The 5-speed gearbox allows for short fast shifting when accelerating and an improved top end cruising speed.
The car has been setup for the road using a JME spec handling kit front and rear. The uprated rose-jointed front anti-roll bar makes turn in precise and positive. The firmer ride along with the Avon CR6ZZ tyres provides plenty of grip and response.
Installed with disc brakes front and rear. 4 Pot front and 2 pot rear aluminium brake calipers that are brake servo assisted.
The car also benefits from an alternator conversion, LED headlighting, front spotlights, electric washer jets, 12V interior sockets, gloss black painted 72 spoke wire wheels fitted with Avon CV6ZZ tyres and 3 eared spinners.
Fully upholstered and customised interior in the finest black smooth grain leather and matching carpets. Tailored JME Cape works seats. Fully heat and sound proofed throughout. The car is also complete with a fully restored original works hardtop painted gloss black.
This stunning and rare UK RHD 3000 MKI is offered for sale with UK V5C Registration Document, Heritage certificate, original buff logbook and fully photographed and documented restoration along with itemised parts list compiled by ourselves at JME Healeys upon its completion.
