- FItted with desirable Manual gearbox
Introduced in 1993, the handsome new DB7 was Aston Martin’s first six-cylinder model since production of the DBS had finished in 1971. Designed by Ian Callum at the same time as he designed the coupe, the Volante looks elegant both hood up or down, much like the earlier Aston Martin drophead cars. Well received, it attracted new customers worldwide, with the traditional layout of the curvaceous two door coupé body, robust six-cylinder engine and a luxury interior. Power was supplied by an all-alloy, double overhead camshaft, supercharged, 24-valve, in-line six-cylinder engine which produced 335bhp at 5750rpm. The DB7 was undoubtedly the catalyst for the modern line of Aston Martin.
This earlier 1998 i6 model, presented in silver with a dark blue leather interior and with the desirable manual gearbox, has been in current ownership as part of a small collection for some 8 years. In that time the DB7 has been maintained personally by the owner, a former McLaren engineer. Offered with accompanying history files containing a wallet, manuals, three keys, bills for previous maintenance works, V5C and current MoT certificate, this DB7 is a highly accessible and rewarding way into open-topped Aston-Martin ownership.
This classic vehicle will be coming to auction with Dore & Rees Auctions on Wednesday 4th December at Five Zeroes Supercars Ltd, Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire. For further information please contact the Motoring department.
