The two owners of this ZR have both been MG Rover employees & the care they have shown this vehicle is second to none.
The car presents as a collectors piece throughout, we would be amazed if another exists like this.

It has been kept in a heated garaged it’s whole life, even spending it’s recent time at the Longbridge MG site where it was built back on the 8th of December 2003.

History
Originally purchased from Dutton Forshaw Motor Company in Maidstone in March 2004, this ZR was bought via the MG Rover Privilege Vehicle Sales Scheme exclusively for MG Rover employees.

The original owner carried out some subtle upgrades which only add to the quality of the ZR & are in keeping with the sporting nature of the ZR160 hot hatch.
The paperwork file is very comprehensive, with receipts & invoices for all the work completed including a MG Sport approved Janspeed full exhaust system, upgraded EBC brakes & Powerflex polybush kit.

This example has been cared for by both owners who wanted to keep the car away from anyone they did not know working on the vehicle, as such the car has been self maintained by the two MG employees themselves, which is documented by way of receipts for servicing items & mileages logged at point of servicing.

Body & Paintwork
Finished in the Monogram specific Orange Grove Supertallic this ZR really stands out from the crowd.

This ZR is in stunning original condition, the paintwork is all original & presents fantastically, save for a couple of small stone chips that have been touched in as you would expect.
The car is totally (& we mean totally) rust free, wheel arches are as it left the factory & the plastic arch liners are shiny & undamaged.
All badges, lights & glass are in great order, this really is a ‘one of a kind’ example.

The underside of the vehicle is also absolutely excellent, almost like new with no rust at all, it’s very rare to find any MG in this condition underneath.

It really is a stunning looking car with the Orange Grove paintwork really showing the ‘pearl’ in any glimpse of sunshine.

Interior & Trim
The interior of the vehicle is totally original with no wear on the seat bolsters, back seats have never been sat in & it is still graced with the original factory Kenwood stereo.
The chrome door sill plates are free from any scuffs or scratches, door shuts & rear tailgate hinges are free from any rust & are just like it came from the factory.
The headlining presents as new with no sagging or damage, very rare for any MG of this era.

It presents incredibly well & it is obvious how much this car has been loved & cared for.

Every works as it should do, a real time warp example.

Engine
The MG ZR is one of the best driver’s hot hatches of the time & that is helped by the legendary 1. 8 litre VVC, K Series engine.
This one has been meticulously looked after with regular oil changes & cambelt changed when required.
The engine produces a dyno proven 171bhp thanks to a MG Sport approved Janspeed exhaust, Magnecor HT leads & Pipercross panel filter.

The engine is super smooth & accelerates cleanly through the rev range, the Janspeed exhaust providing a sporty soundtrack to match the looks of the car.
As can be seen in the pictures, then engine bay presents extremely nicely, this car is absolutely ready to be taken to shows.

Running Gear
As has been mentioned, this car drives very well as per the reviews at the time.

The Pi suspension & EBC brake upgrades add to the driving experience, making this a very sporty little hot hatch.
The underside of the car is as immaculate as the topside, this is the best condition MG we have seen underneath in all of our years.

The 17” alloys wheels & centre caps are in superb condition & they are fitted with matching, as new Yokohama Advan performance tyres.
