Supplied new by Speeds of Chesterfield as a 50th birthday present to a family friend, I was invited to buy this pristinely kept car in 2021 when a health condition sadly meant he could no longer enjoy the SL.
It has been meticulously kept, garaged since new and maintained exclusively by the supplying dealer until 2016 and local specialists since. The hardtop was removed when the car was first brought home and has remained hung in the garage since and is in perfect condition with the original Speeds sticker in the back window!Always stored with the hood up has helped preserve the original soft top and windows, which are in as good a condition as could be expected at 30 years old. The paintwork and exterior is absolutely gorgeous and original, with no rust or notable marks and the Imperial Red colour has an amazing shine. The wheels were refurbished to a high standard when I bought the car and fitted with Dunlop tyres as per the data card.
In addition, I had a major service carried out in 2021 and replaced all of the brakes, brake fluid and bonnet insulation at this time. The car will be offered for sale freshly serviced and MOTd. Everything works as it should and the car has performed faultlessly on several long trips covered in my ownership.
It is reluctantly for sale after 3 years of pleasurable ownership to make way for another classic Mercedes and owing to lack of use and other commitments. Any questions or to arrange inspection, please don’t hesitate to call me.
