2002 Rover 45 LXS
*** NO RESERVE*** Only 42, 000 miles from new with comprehensive service history
Registration - ML02 FYX
Chassis No. - SARRTSWME2D587119
M. O. T. - May 2025
Odometer - 42, 000
With an odometer reading just 42, 000 miles, this 2002 Rover 45 1. 8 iXS is a real retro collectable that’s being offered at No Reserve. The vendor describes it as being in “stunning” condition, and rates it ‘excellent’ throughout, including engine, bodywork and interior. Other than just a few age-related marks, the bodywork is “amazing” and “this Rover has been cherished, without doubt”. Reassuringly, the vendor reports the head gasket has been done, along with the timing belt, and it’s also had a new water pump and alternator. The tyres are new too, and this Rover 45 hatchback has been recently serviced, adding further to the comprehensive service history. It has an MOT valid until May 2025, which has no advisories.
‘ML02FYX’ is well equipped, with front and rear electric windows, electric door mirrors, air conditioning and a factory Rover stereo. It also has remote central locking, with both two keys and two remotes. The cream upholstery is extremely clean, and the original floor mats have helped keep the cream carpet looking fresh. They are another example of its complete originality, adds the vendor, who says it “drives spot-on, pulls brilliantly and is very comfortable”. An HPI report shows the car was previously written off in 2008, with the most minor Category D classification. Records show this 22-year-old car has been used and enjoyed in the 16 years since, with evidence of annual MOTs.
The Rover 45, launched in 1999, was derived from the second-generation Rover 400, which was revealed in 1995. Overseen by then-owners BMW, the Rover 45 was moved upmarket, with more distinctive styling on the outside and an extensively-revised interior that brought some of the luxuries from the acclaimed Rover 75. The comfortable seats from the Rover 75 were a particular highlight, while retuned suspension delivered a more comfortable drive. The larger 1. 8-litre K-Series engine, also seen in the MGF roadster, became available with the Rover 45.
