Description
There has never been a better time to purchase one of these great Astons, with prices now being so attractive. A guaranteed classic, the DB7 GTA is likely to appreciate once the market recovers. So, if you’ve always wanted one of the best and most powerful DB7 variants made by Aston Martin but could never quite afford it, then now is the best time to take advantage of current market conditions.
- The Car -
Supplied new by Aston Martin Lagonda itself in February 2003, this RHD GTA comes in Canna di Fucile (a Ferrari ‘gun metal’ colour) and an Eclipse (dark red / purple) and Charcoal leather interior with Black Oak wood trim.
As with all GTAs, this car has the ‘Touchtronic’ semi-automatic gearbox, the modified suspension, larger disc brakes, free-flowing sports exhaust, unique 5-spoke alloy wheels and modified body aerodynamics. The final drive ratio is also upped to produce greater acceleration. Furthermore, it comes with the usual refinements of air conditioning and heated front and rear windscreens in addition to the sculptured seats from the V12 Vanquish. All these changes and more have been brought together to create a much more distinctive car than a standard DB7 Vantage.
This GTA is in very good condition but with signs of normal wear and tear expected of a car that’s essentially 20 years old and this is reflected in the price. In addition, the price has been recently reduced further to take into account that it does need new tyres. And at just over 53, 600 miles, it’s certainly not a high mileage car by any means and is ready to be enjoyed. The number plate of LA03 GTA comes with the car and is a most fitting addition to this rare Aston Martin.
The DB7 probably saved Aston Martin (again) and is one of the most important cars in the company’s history. The GT and GTA models were the pinnacles of DB7 production. As a result, these cars will most definitely become sought after by collectors when DB7 retail prices start to increase, as they surely will. Make no mistake, the DB7 GTA and GT models are guaranteed future classics.
- Its History -
Over its lifetime, this GTA has been serviced initially by Aston Martin Works, then with main dealers such as Lancaster of Sevenoaks and Stratstone of Derby with more recent works undertaken by renowned specialists McGurk, Pugsley & Lewis and Chicane.
The most recent works by Chicane include a relined headlining panel, an inspection of the differential cradle and subsequent removal of the ‘clonk’ on pick up that can be common with these cars, a new battery and a repaired transmission loom.
This GTA comes with all documents, a full service history booklet, a spare set of keys and an as supplied battery trickle charger.
- Conclusion -
This car has a more interesting colour combination than others available and therefore represents an ideal opportunity to acquire a car that is certain to put a smile on your face as well as being fully road ready. Unlike ‘standard’ DB7s, this is an every day, usable investment.
This DB7 GTA is available for viewing and demonstration at our Hampshire showroom by appointment only and will be sold with a full 12 months MOT.
