1990 Land Rover Santana 2500
These vehicles are highly regarded due to the rarity of being manufactured under license by Santana Motor in Spain
Registration - G876 COY
Chassis No. - VSELBFBL8AZ117064
M. O. T. - May 2025
Odometer - 148, 507
This distinctive and rare Land Rover Santana 2500 SWB is a vehicle described as being in excellent condition throughout – as the full images make fully clear. This enthusiast-owned machine has enjoyed a no-expense-spared restoration over the past two years, which has seen a vehicle that was originally finished in white transformed into a restomod machine in Heritage Green. Brand new 18-inch saw-tooth wheels and tyres set it off, as does the canvass roof and period-look LED headlights and tail lamps. It even has a retro set of Spanish mudflaps!
‘G876COY’ is just as extraordinary inside, thanks to a beautiful brown leather interior with Harris Tweed inserts. The upholstery has been custom-made by a specialist, and comes complete with the Harris Tweed logo stitched in. The vendor says this alone cost £2, 000. There’s also a Superlite wood rim steering wheel, while the rest of the interior is in immaculate condition – even the rear deck is clean and freshly-painted. Registered in the UK in May 2024, the Land Rover Santana has an odometer reading around 148, 000 miles (the odometer reading is in kilometres), but the full restoration means it presents in virtually as-new condition.
Spain’s Santana Motor was originally created to produce agricultural machinery and began building 4x4s under licence from Land Rover in 1961. The machines were very popular both in Spain and South America, North Africa and the Middle East – exports were approved by Land Rover as it was unable to meet demand itself. By 1989, Santana began marketing its own versions of the Land Rover under the Santana brand, while it developed relationships with other manufacturers, such as Suzuki.
In summary:
