Description
There has never been a better time to purchase one of these great Astons, with prices now being so attractive. A guaranteed classic, the DB7 GTA is very likely to appreciate once the market recovers. This particular GTA is a little different in that it isn’t in one of the many silver or other standard colour variants. And with its vibrant interior and recent works undertaken by renowned Aston Martin specialist Chicane, this makes for one very special Aston Martin.
- The Car -
Supplied new by JCT 600 of Leeds in May 2003, this RHD GTA comes in Rolls Royce Peacock Blue with an Ocean leather and Navy alcantara interior with Black Oak wood trim panels. Interestingly, the seats are centrally lined with Navy alcantara, not leather, and it is understood that this colour option was only specified on 2 GTAs.
As with all GTAs, this car has the ‘Touchtronic’ semi-automatic gearbox, the modified suspension, larger disc brakes, free-flowing sports exhaust, unique 5-spoke alloy wheels and modified body aerodynamics. The final drive ratio is also upped to produce greater acceleration. Furthermore, it comes with the usual refinements of air conditioning and heated front and rear windscreens in addition to the sculptured seats from the V12 Vanquish. All these changes and more have been brought together to create a much more distinctive car than a standard DB7 Vantage.
In addition to the standard package, this GTA has a silver gear knob to match the centre console dials and interior colour coded sections to the steering wheel. This Aston is also fitted with a Quicksilver large bore stainless steel exhaust system. And according to Quicksilver’s own data, this increases power by 15 bhp.
This GTA is in very good condition and at just over 58, 130 miles, it’s certainly not a high mileage car by any means but has spent its life being used, not garaged. And Astons don’t like sitting in garages. Finally, the number plate of D13 GTA comes with the car and is a most fitting addition to this rare Aston Martin.
