Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The November Online Timed Auction on Thursday the 28th of November, Online. Background:Land Rover’s venerable Defender series debuted in 1983, taking over from the tried-and-trusted ‘Series’ Landies, beloved by generations of farmers, soldiers, explorers, and adventurers. A design icon as globally recognised as a London black cab or double-decker bus, the Defender ushered the all-wheel-drive, go-anywhere, do-anything Land Rover into a new era. It introduced improved road manners thanks to its all-coil spring suspension and permanent all-wheel drive with a lockable centre differential - both borrowed from the Range Rover.
A sales success from day one, the Defender’s 33-year lifespan and excellent survival rate mean that these vehicles are likely to remain a regular feature on most roads - and off them - for many years to come.
The CarWe are delighted to offer this truly exceptional 2. 2-litre diesel (Puma) classic 110 Defender for sale. Presented in Indus Silver (an additional-cost option when new), this XS model also features half-leather seats, air conditioning, a CD player, five-spoke alloys, heated seats and electric windows, adding to the comfort and convenience. It is a true 7-seater, with three-abreast seating behind the driver and passenger, and an additional two full-size seats behind this row, which can be folded away to create a useful load area.
The interior is virtually unmarked throughout and includes a superb black ‘Alston’ Alcantara/ suede headlining, which adds a significant amount of additional refinement.
The exterior is equally impressive. There are no areas of paint degradation due to electrolytic corrosion, for example, and common problematic areas such as the mirror brackets, steps, rear crossmember and chassis are all in remarkable condition. The door bottoms are also pristine, and the fastidious owner even took the precaution of replacing the factory mild-steel door bolts with stainless steel alternatives. The tyres are matching Continental Cross Contact All-Terrain, with an abundance of tread remaining all round - including the unused spare.
Supplied by Stratstone in June 2015, this example has a full Land Rover main dealer service history (Stratstone/ Rybrook of Stoke) and has covered only 37, 798 miles. The services have been conducted as follows:

ABS and Dynamic Stability Control are featured for safety reassurance. It doesn’t get much better than this very late, one-owner-from-new example of the iconic Defender 110. Both keys are present, along with all of the handbooks in the original wallet and service information. This 2. 2-litre diesel model benefits from cheaper road tax than the earlier 2. 4 version and is widely regarded as more refined. The MOT is valid until April 2025.
Summary:There is simply no match for a Defender, and it would be hard to find a better-maintained and better-kept example.
