Aston Martin charged headfirst into the new millennium when it launched the V12 Vanquish in 2001. Gone were the antiquated techniques of the past – the V12 Vanquish would be a thoroughly modern grand tourer. The chassis was an advanced extruded and bonded aluminium composite developed in partnership with Lotus, with a six-speed automated manual transmission and a 460-horsepower version of the company's first V12, which had debuted in the DB7 Vantage two years earlier. Its Ian Callum-penned lines would set Aston Martin's design language for following two decades, and the V12 Vanquish was seared into the public consciousness when it starred in 2002's Bond classic Die Another Day. Despite the advanced technology, the V12 Vanquish would be the last all-new Aston Martin to be hand assembled and finished at Newport Pagnell, with just 1, 489 cars built before the 2004 launch of the V12 Vanquish S.
This is an authentic, well looked-after vehicle that appears to have all the right money spent on it, in the right amounts, as and when needed. It starts, goes, handles and stops exactly as it should. The original Canna Di Fucile paintwork is shiny and has an impressive depth of lustre to it. The panels are smooth and the shut lines are crisp and even in that uniquely ‘hand-built’ way. The wheels are untroubled by anything other than the most minor of nicks or scratches, and the matching tyres have plenty of life left in them. The lights and lenses are clear. Acres of Charcoal and Stone hide, black carpet and Satin Chrome. All beautifully crafted. All in fine condition. All conspiring to create an unrivalled sense of occasion each and every time you get inside. And all very macho. The upholstery is in fine fettle, as are the carpets, mats, door cards and headlining. The front seats are supportive and comfortable and look underused for their age.
This car was delivered new by Paramount Aston Martin in Derby to its first proud owner and duly registered OD1. The car had a further two owners in its first 4 years until 2007, when it was purchased by the last owner with roughly 11k Miles on the clock, He then used the car regularly and clocked up many more miles until today where it is showing 96k Miles, albeit with a great history! This is the way to own one of these cars! The 1 owner car with 3k Miles is good for a static collection but this car is the one to use daily! She has the original books and service book showing 13 stamps with the last service in August 2023 less than 500 miles ago. The car also had a new clutch in 2018.
