Description
The Mercedes-Benz 300 SE is the kind of classic that doesn't require much effort or concern. Thanks to a list of innovations never seen before at the time, it is as easy and enjoyable to drive as any modern car.
The design reflects the trends of its time, with clean, fluid lines, highlighted by the exquisite chrome and the low beltline without a B-pillar. Space and sumptuousness prevail on board, with well-carved wood and red leather seats.
This 300 SE is equipped with an inline 6 engine with 3. 0 liters and 170 HP. Although it is not a marvel of power, it has a very round torque curve, which allows it to overtake and gain speed without much effort. Mechanical injection ensures that the engine wakes up at the first turn of the ignition and that its operation is always smooth and predictable.
The power steering, innovative air suspension and automatic transmission are very pleasant to use, but never in a sporting context, especially because the comfortable seats do not offer any lateral support. This is a car to drive sparingly.
This 300 SE was sold new in Portugal, in August 1962, and is in very good condition. It is one of 2419 examples produced and its beauty and rarity attest to its collectible nature.
