Mike Hailwood 1964 Honda RC164, 250cc Replica.
Started in 1999. The Frame and swingarm were designed and built by Paul Johnson Racing.
The motor is a 1986 MC14 Series, 250cc, high revving, water cooled, American Import which has been stripped and checked.
Keihin, flate side race Carburetors. Imported from Japan and matched to the engine.
Honda front and rear race hubs, again imported from Japan with a twin leading front brake, stainless spokes, and new rims
Ceriani competition front forks and top and bottom yoke. The rear shocks are air over oil.
Honda race shop, magnesium footrests, gear change and rear brake lever.
The dummy oil tank, petrol tank and seat are all made from lightweight aluminium.
Electric Start, so easy to fire up if and when. Sounds amazing. (video available)
It was completed in 2003, taking four years to build and has been paraded at Mallory Park along with being shown at numerous classic car and bike shows.
Sadly, part of my late fathers private collection. Decommissioned and stored indoors.
