Description
- Delivered new on the 15th of April 1991, this is No. 2 of 25 SE ‘Celebration’ versions of the Lotus Excel.
- A limited edition car to celebrate Lotus’ 25 years of production at there famous Hethel factory.
- The Lotus Excel is a widely underappreciated car, being overshadowed by the legendary Lotus Esprit. But for those that know, the Excel is a lovely little sweetspot in Lotus’ history.
- Based on its predecessor, the Eclat, and designed by Peter Stevens, the Excel benefitted hugely from Lotus’s new partnership with Toyota.
- Large parts of the drivetrain, suspension and electrics were directly inherited from the Japanese firm, meaning that contrary to Lotus’ long standing reputation for reliability, or lack thereof, the Excel is a surprisingly dependable machine!
- Showing 5 previous keepers from when it was first registered.
- Exceptional service history throughout the car’s life, with an incredible 35 services recorded!
- Proudly taxed and MOT’d consistently every year since it was delivered.
- All MOT’s since 1999 a present in the file, also accompanied by the tax disks from 2001-2015.
- Original handbook, stamped service book and wallet.
- Original and complete tool kit.
- Jack, wheel brace and spare wheel all present and correct.
- Incredible binder of all invoices for mechanical maintenance.
- In our opinion, this car has been utterly cherished all the way through its life and is a testament to its previous owners.
- As always please do contact us in order to arrange a viewing!
