Description
Lancia Fulvia Coupe 1. 3S Rallye Series 2 / LHD / 1971 / Repainted By Specialist / Collector Owned & Maintained Regardless Of Cost / Superb Condition @ £18, 750.
We are truly privileged to offer to the market for the second time, this structurally original, unrestored but recently repainted & highly desirable Lancia Fulvia Coupe 1. 3S Rallye Series 2 (818-630). This is a 1971 model being UK tax exempt & comes complete with ACI Certificato Di Proprieta & Copy of Italian log book (The DVLA had the original!) with accompanying owner’s handbook. Please don’t confuse this model with the later Fiat built series 3 examples which are less desirable & thus cheaper.
This original & stunning example of the Series 2 Fulvia arrived direct from Modena, in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, via a closed in transporter along with other Italian exotica to our London workshop in the summer of 2015.
The Italian owner Angelo had resided over this low owner example until the purchase of a more modern replacement & the records show it to have been registered from new locally in Modena in 1971, so has never ventured far!
Angelo sold us the car wearing its original factory paint & in unrestored condition, so structurally original apart from an engine & gear box rebuild conducted circa 6 years earlier he explained. So as such the car showed externally minor scratches & dings as to be expected with a 44 year old Italian car. It looked however rust free & in a great unrestored structural condition, a real find!
We were meticulous in our preparation (August 2015) prior to offering this exceptional example to the market by undertaking the following works:
We completed a full repaint in its original blu scuro colour to a high professional standard using PPG paint. We also took copious photos of the car at the various stages of preparation. As expected the vehicle was found to be in a good structural condition. The boot floor presented very well in its original form. (It had been dry stored & garage kept by its previous owners).
Our works included in brief a strip of the vehicle, full preparation & repair as required of the bodywork, ready for a full respray, including the door shuts etc. The Lancia wheels were refinished to a high standard. We changed the front wheel bearings at a cost of £324 for parts alone, fixed the horn, aligned the steering wheel, did a full engine service including NGK plugs, engine oil & filter, air filter, coolant change along with a full tune, just to be sure! We applied Wurth spray gun applied underseal after photographing the underside prior to keep it structurally perfect for the next 44 years ahead.
We also fully detailed the vehicle including a machine polish of the new glorious new paintwork & fresh MOT to complete along with new Italian front & rear number plate holders & period correct Corrello windscreen wiper blades. Fitted period correct decal kit, undertook a detailed interior deep clean, fitted new seat belts & filled the fuel with £40 of super unleaded. (These works were completed in August 2015 by ourselves).
We then promptly found a buyer for this beautiful example & the vehicle was registered in his name as the first UK owner & we promptly delivered it to sunny Oxfordshire.
This example retains the original matching 4 cylinder 1298cc engine with twin solex carbs & is now showing a mileage of only 7527 KM, previously at point of sale in September 2015, it was showing 4, 367, so its owner has completed circa 3160 KM in his 9 years of ownership. It also has all its factory stamps present, especially the bonnet shut / bulkhead VIN stamp.
We approached the owner several times, in order to purchase it back over the 9 years of his ownership & recently he agreed. As he wanted to purchase a more modern classic. A deal was done & the Fulvia collected from its storage faculty & returned to our workshops, where it hadstood 9 years earlier.
In the 9 years of ownership the tenacious owner has spent circa £10, 000 with over 20 invoices which are all held within the impressive history file.
So to summarise, the owner treated the vehicle to a full engine rebuild in 2016, completed by Mazz Racing with all parts supplied by Cavalitto, Italy. Mazz rebored the block, reground the crank, fitted a carb overhaul kit, alternator belt, plugs along with the following parts. Set of big end bearings, set main bearings, set thrust washers. Piston, thermostat & housing, water pump, chain tensioner, complete gasket set, head gasket, brake adjuster, clutch kit. All parts & works are invoiced accordingly & works conducted on a no expense spared basis.
He has also had a set of quality Vredestein Sprint Classic Tyres fitted, a new heater core, refurbed the callipers, set up, adjusted & tuned the carbs. Fitted a new exhaust silencer & support, central section of the exhaust, new steering lock & ignition barrel, new battery, consumables, oil filter, oil, plugs, alternator & earth strap, coil, distributor cap, refurbed the rear callipers, new fuel hoses, servo hose, rear brake pads, cap, leads, rotor arm, light switch stork – refurbished, brake master cylinder kit, brake fluid & rear load valve. You can see where the £10, 000 has been spent can’t you. The car has been loved & treated to whatever it may have needed on a no expense spared basis.
We have just checked the car over & fixed the window washers, replaced the speedo cable & did numerous minor jobs along with fitting a new air intake rubber, cill trims, indicator lenses & we did a minor service & check over, which in truth wasn’t required as the owner had done a service a few months prior. We then presented the car for its MOT test which it passed with no advisories & then conducted a full forensic valet & swissvax treatment to our 9 year old paintwork which had stood up really well.
The vehicle comes with an impressive history file & contains: Italian log book (Copy), Original Italian ACI Certificato Di Proprietra, UK registration paperwork including number plate authorisation cert ect. Parts invoices, Lancia owners handbook / manual, Fresh current UK MOT, past MOT cert, Copious photos showing car in Italy & also of our works conducted here in the UK along with invoices for All the works noted above (20 in total).
Period correct Lancia Blu Scuro paintwork, with a stunning full grey tweed interior, including original door cards & rear panel cards, complemented by the original headlining which is holding up well – literally. All complemented by the original rubber floor coverings, with new grey rubber floor mats over for protection.
Fresh MOT with NO advisories - Although MOT exempt.
Free historic road tax & ULEZ compliant.
Keys on Lancia Fulvia key ring, original spare wheel & cover, original warning triangle & Lancia jack & boot strap etc.
Refinished Lancia sports wheels shod with correct new matching tyres.
It certainly is a genuine low mileage cherished example & looks resplendent.
You could actually use this example for every day use, transportation to the Revival, or as a contender at classic car shows & be proud of it in any circumstance.
‘The Lancia Fulvia (Tipo 818) was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 1963 by Lancia & produced until 1976. Fulvias are notable for their role in automobile racing history, including winning the International Rally Championship in 1972, the year of this example. On testing it in 1967, Road 7 Track summed up the Fulvia as "a precision motorcar, an engineering tour de force". Named after Fulvia Flacca Bambula, an aristocratic Roman woman and wife of Mark Antony.
The Fulvia was available in three variants:- 'Berlina' (4 door saloon) 'Coupé' and 'Sport' (an alternative fastback coupé designed and built by Zagato on the Coupé floorpan).
This stunning example is great fun to drive, not to mention look at! These models are ever increasing in value & a good Fulvia is a great investment opportunity with a strong club following. Find another as original with this mileage & low ownership for the most competitive price requested.

This vehicle is exceptional value, try & find another as original & tax exempt – Please remember ‘you get what you pay for’. Our cars are handpicked by a marquee expert & we turn down 8 or 9 out of every 10 cars offered. The cars we sell, are we believe the best of their type & are here to be viewed & driven in the UK. This takes the gamble out of buying a car direct from Europe sight unseen. Our stock comes fully de-registered from the country of origin with the ACI fee paid, UK MOT’d, test driven, serviced & detailed. Don’t confuse them with other cars on the internet which have had dubious restorations & are offered with a low asking price. We have had 2 clients bring such cars to us recently bought direct from Italy & both were severe MOT failures with a list of faults ranging from no reverse gear to an undercarriage that requires total replacement. You have been warned! There is always a reason why a car is being sold cheaply! Again ‘you get what you pay for’…
This vehicle is we believe the best in Europe for the price asked, don’t settle and ensure you view this stunning example…
