Description
The pre war Morris Minor Vans used by thr GPO can be divided into three types. The red vans were used for postal service, a similar van finished in green called an Internal Engineers van and the third type was the External Engineers van often fitted with a ladder on the roof and had a sloping screen to allow the driver to observe overhead wires.
The quite magnificent example we offer here is an Internal Engineers van, the van was first registered on the 18th of May 1938. Believed to be one of 5 still left in existence. The van was aquired by a Mr. Couling, a retired Post office employee in 1996. He then set about a long ground up rebuild. The result being self evident. The van comes witha comprehensive history file detailing all aspects of the restoration. The van has since won many awards at Morris register rallies.
