The Alvis brand makes the heart of many a classic car enthusiast beat faster. Alvis has remained a small brand and it is therefore not easy to find a good example. Especially when you are looking for a beautifully built and well-lined Alvis Special you will be able to confirm that this is not so simple.
The Alvis we are offering for sale was originally delivered with a Mulliners “four-cylinder Sports-body” and has driven its entire life in England. The previous English owners are included in the impressive history file of the car. In addition, there is a lot of documentation available about the modifications that have been carried out, such as various invoices, but also copies of the previous registrations and a copy of the official Alvis Limited Car Record are present in the file.
In 2010-2011 the Alvis was restored and reconstructed by a well-known German specialist to this beautifully lined and proportioned Alvis Special and provided with a German license plate. He sold the car to a Dutchman in 2011.
After registration in the Netherlands, the Special was thoroughly tackled again. The bodywork and seats were adapted so that even tall people can sit comfortably in the Alvis. The steering wheel was made removable so that tall people can also get in and out more easily. The engine was completely rebuilt by a leading specialist, which made it deliver no less than 95 hp on the roller bench. In combination with the low tare weight of the Alvis, this has made it a very smooth Special where the performance also matches the looks.
For us it is an old acquaintance: we sold the car in 2018 to a German relationship. He took very good care of it and had the car meticulously maintained. The car now has a German license plate. Due to changes in his collection, we are now allowed to offer this car for sale.
