Just arrived at the Garage!
1959 Triumph TR3A - finished in signal red
In the present owner’s hands for more than 50 years, this Signal Red TR3A underwent a body-off rebuild some years ago, including new front wings, inner wings, inner and outer sills, floor panels, quarter panels and re-skinned doors.
The gearbox and overdrive unit were rebuilt, and a new clutch was fitted.
The engine was rebuilt and uprated with a Racetorations gas flowed head and around 11, 000 miles have been covered since. A build sheet for the engine is included.
Further work has included a rack and pinion steering conversion by Revington. The wheels - which are TR6 type - have been powder coated and new Vredstein tyres fitted. The front suspension has been rebuilt using polybushes and the car was resprayed by a TR specialist. A Hi-Torque starter motor has also been fitted.
To summarise, this is a very well sorted TR3A that has benefited from long term ownership and considerable expenditure to produce what is very much an enthusiastic driver’s car.
On the road, the car feels very taut and together, with excellent performance and overdrive engaging smoothly. Much additional work has been carried out over the years, with some being very recent.
The hood and side screens are in very good shape and the interior trim is extremely smart and correct.
As would be expected, there is a substantial amount of paperwork provided.
