1930 Austin 7 Special (based on the Gordon England ‘Stadium’ model)
Among the vast array of special bodies based on the Austin Seven chassis, some of the most attractive styles were the ‘Cup’ and ‘Stadium’ models made by Gordon England Coachworks, who were based in Putney, South West London.
This Special is based largely on the lines of the Gordon England ‘Stadium’ model and presents smartly with the body being covered in ivory fabric. The cockpit is trimmed in black leather.
It has recently received attention to the clutch and has had much work undertaken to ensure it is in good running order.
There is an old buff RF60 log book which dates back to 1938. Our own research via the A7 Clubs Association chassis register, confirms that this car with chassis number 68074 was originally a two-seat tourer which had not been recorded prior to 2004. Therefore it must have been used as the donor for this car, which is essentially a ‘Special’
The original distinctive Sheffield registration number remains with the car.
