Description
1997 Mazda MX-5 Monza, 1598cc, manual, 2 door convertible, reg. no. R322 BTU, finished in British Racing Green with a black cloth interior. This limited edition Monza model, named after the famous Italian race track is one of only 800 units made between May and September 1997. All examples were finished in British Racing Green and sported 14" alloy wheels. Unique Monza decals were also fitted to the rear quarter panels and the bonnet. Originally supplied by Ryders Mazda of Bootle, the car has had just two former keepers, the first until 1999, with the second owner keeping the car until 2006, when the current keeper acquired it. The car has covered a very modest mileage of approximately 50, 000 in its 27 year life. This mileage is backed up by MOT history and a well stamped service book which concludes with a final recorded service at Underwoods Mazda, Colchester on 3rd June 2012 at 48, 906 miles. In later years the car has seen very little use, with the car remaining off the road in dry storage between 2020 and 2024. The car is offered for sale by direction of the late owner's executors. At their instruction, we have taken the car for MOT (31st October 2024), where it failed only on a non-functioning horn. Supplied with V5, handbook and service book pack and some old MOTs. The car is a remarkably well-preserved example of the ever popular MX-5 that needs an enthusiastic new owner to recommission it for the road. (Subject to 12% buyers' premium inclusive of VAT).
For sale by auction on Saturday 16th November 2024 at 11am.
