With us here at RFH Classics we are excited to bring you this exceptional 1969 MGC GT is finished in Aston Martin Green with Connolly leather-covered Ricard seats and TRS 4-point harnesses. This original UK supplied car has undergone extensive handling enhancements including special neoprene bushes, upgraded steering arms and now sits on triple spinner Minilite wheels. It features a full FIA rally cage with a detachable steering wheel as well as a Le Mans-style side-mounted fuel filler, which facilitates efficient refuelling to the modified, vented fuel tank.
The engine showcases meticulous period-correct tuning, now running on Triple Weber carburettors and tested to produce 185 bhp. Safety and performance modifications include a lightened and balanced flywheel, twin Downton free-flow manifolds, MG Motorsport distributor modifications and a Kenlow fan with a manual override for optimal cooling. This powerful engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, transmitting power through an upgraded rear axle with a limited-slip differential to handle torque and improve traction. Recently, the car has been fitted with a complete new clutch assembly, among other enhancements, ensuring it’s ready for immediate use.
The braking system is upgraded to rally specifications including a new master cylinder, callipers, discs, and brake lines. Suspension upgrades include MG Motorsport torsion bars, a high-ratio rack and pinion steering setup, new engine and gearbox mounts, and Spax adjustable shock absorbers. Underneath, the car is equipped for all-terrain reliability rallying, with full protection including guards for the exhaust, sump, and critical undercarriage components. Inside, safety features include a rally ignition cut-off, fire extinguisher system and a monitoring meter to assist with navigation.
Beyond functionality, this MGC GT presents beautifully with period-correct lighting and an eye-catching colour scheme. Inside, a calibrated, detachable rally trip meter promises enjoyment for both driver and navigator.
