Description
1965 Ford Mustang Coupe 289 V8 Auto. Sympathetically restored in recent years, the gunmetal livery and burgundy cabin are still remarkably evocative, and presented in good overall condition. Over £5, 000 has been spent in recent years.
The Mustang was an immediate hit - and had already catapulted itself into the public consciousness by 1965, but that uniquely petrol-headed crowd was a crowd that wanted the best of the best, so Ford lined up plenty of upgrades and personalisation options during the car's lifespan - indeed, it's a tradition they're still carrying today.
This early '65 'Notchback' is a key example. The original buyer back in '65 clearly had discerning taste, packing the car with the highly desirable C-Code 289Ci 4. 7-Litre V8. That's good for 200bhp, and firmly places the pony car into very muscular territory. It's hard to imagine just how many people it's impressed in its time!
