Based on a 1989 Mercedes 230ce coupé, this car was transformed into a cabriolet by the famous SGS Styling workshop. The name used by SGS was 'Biarritz', and they started production of Biarritz cabriolets from the w124 saloon. When Mercedes began production of the coupe, they started transforming the model into a two-door. This is a rare example based on the 230 ce. Only 70 cars (based on saloon and coupé) were produced. Mercedes presented the Ce Cabrio only two years later, very similar to the last model produced by SGS.
