The 991 generation 911 was unveiled in 2011, replacing the outgoing 997 generation, and was based on an entirely new platform for Porsche. The car was slightly larger with its wheelbase increasing by 100mm to improve weight distribution and handling. With the use of high strength steel, aluminium and composites, weight was reduced too, an impressive 40kg lower in the base manual Carrera model.
Porsche introduced the GT3 RS in 2015 which was powered by a 4-litre normally aspirated unit developing 495bhp and revving to 8, 800 rpm, mated to a PDK transmission. As with the GT3, the RS has rear-axle steering for increased agility at slow speeds and more stability at higher speeds.
The bodywork featured many aerodynamic improvements over the GT3 including a deep front spoiler, large rear wing and reinforced front wheel-arch air vents that extend into the upper section of the wing. Weight savings are evident throughout the car which include a carbon bonnet, magnesium roof, carbon bucket seats and lightweight door handles.
This GT3 RS is the special colour of Signal Yellow, a non-standard paint to sample choice, which is a superbly rich historic colour for Porsche that first offered as a special order option in 1966. There are 10 known Signal Yellow 911 GT3 RS in the world with likely only other right hand drive car being in Australia. The car has a strong complement of factory options including ceramic brakes, front axle lift system, sport chrono pack and LED headlights and has been fitted with full PPF.
The car was delivered to its first owner in March 2016 and has been serviced solely by Official Porsche Centres since then, with the most recent full service being completed in October 2024. A 1 year warranty will be supplied with the car.
