Here at Old Colonel Cars, the Classis and Performance Car Agency, we are delighted to have this superb and very hard to find Mercedes 190e 2. 5-16 Cosworth.
This is a September 1989 example, so it comes with the later, more powerful 2. 5 engine, mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox.
This is a very low owner car, only 2 owners from new, both owners have always kept this car garaged when not in use. This Mercedes has covered 112, 000 miles.
This car is a very original example, its a completely standard, right down to the original stereo and rear self levelling suspension.
I have had the pleasure of driving a many of these over the last few years and I can confirm that this car drives better than any, engine is super responsive, steering and suspension feeling very tight, gearbox goes through all gears as it should, I am very impressed with this car.
This example benefits from a full Black leather interior, electric sunroof and air conditioning, which amazingly for a 35 year old car still blows ice cold …
Underneath, its the same story, very solid. There looks to have been a local repair around a rear jacking point, which now looks fine. Lots of brake lines / suspension pipes / springs have been replaced where needed. Unlike so many of these, its not been covered up with underseal, so its clear to see the condition of this car.
This Mercedes benefits from an excellent, fully documented service history. We have all the original manuals, original stamped service book, a large folder full of all the old service receipts and MOT’s, we even have the original Mercedes brochure with the supplying dealer stickers on it.
The service history and old MOT’s go all the way back for this car, but notable recent work all at Mercedes Specialists James Leighs include Air con Overhaul 111, 665 miles, Rear self levelling suspension replaced 112, 144 miles, Full service plus new front shock absorbers (£2723) 112, 226 miles, earlier this year.
