Description
MGC Roadster manual overdrive….
First registered 01/ 01/ 1967. A matching numbers car, finished in the smart hue of Dark Blue with Black leather and complimented by chrome wire wheels. This MGC Roadster has been the subject of a sympathetic restoration since 2017. Originally a USA car repatriated back to the UK some 8 years ago.
The MGC only had a short production run from 1967-69 and was the first ‘high performance’ version of the MGB. The MGC was more than just a tuned MGB, it was in-fact a completely re-engineered car, though retaining many visual connections to the MGB. On the outside the MGC was identifiable by an all alloy bonnet, with power bulge and transverse chrome strip to help make room for the large 6 cylinder engine, plus a tear drop bulge for the twin carburettors. The MGC used 15” wheels, rather than the 14” wheels found on the MGB. The only real differences between the B and C inside was the 140mph speedo and rev counter with a yellow and red banding set against lower rpm than the MGB. 8, 999 MGC examples were produced of which around 4, 542 were roadsters.
