Description
Hello, I am selling my 1978 Renault 18 GTS Automatic (first year of production) in marron glacé which was the launch colour on the brochures. It was the top of the range model above the TS and GTL before the arrival of the GTX. It has the 79bhp 1. 6 cleon alu engine that was found on the R 16 TX's. It is a second hand car, I have all the service invoices from day one, including the purchase invoice for the car and the purchase order. It was bought new from a Renault dealership in Strasbourg for 41, 674 francs at the time. I have all the roadworthiness tests too. Serviced at Renault up to 157, 986km. The latest MOT is dated 2 April 2024 and is valid for 5 years because it is a collector's vehicle. Thanks to this, you can also drive in the ZFE zones and you no longer have to display the crit'air stickers! The car costs me €25 a year in insurance! I also have the duplicate sets of original keys. The first registration of this R18 is dated 06/ 11/ 1978, so it's a 1979 model that has retractor belts in the rear seats as standard (the main change in the model). As an option, it has electric front windows and centralised doors (I've added a module to open/ close it remotely like a recent car). It also comes with headlamp wipers, a laminated windscreen, tinted rear windows and rear window demisting. These options may make you smile today, but they were luxuries at the time. It has no rust, everything has been treated and wax injected into the hollow bodies. The wing roots and windscreen bay (disease) have been redone. The car has been treated with Dinitrol several times in its life (invoice available). The rims have also been repainted in the original colour. The driver's seat is in good condition and has also been redone by a renowned upholsterer. Numerous recent parts: battery, tyres, carburettor rebuild, water and petrol hoses, oil changes, filters, cardan shaft bellows, ignition head and finger, exhaust, radiator, etc. The automatic gearbox has been changed twice and works perfectly. For your information, the gearbox was replaced at Renault at 105, 879 km. So it only has 57, 000 km! I have the invoice for its replacement at Renault in my file, and for the more fussy, the grille mounted on it is a Series 2 replaced at Renault on 08/ 2000 because they only had this model left! I've left it like that because it's part of its history... if you prefer to replace it, you're free to do so, it's easy to find one for a few dozen euros on the internet. In short, it's a nice car that meets with a little success when out and about, that has always slept in a shelter, never restored but always maintained with care and love, but which nevertheless has a few imperfections linked to its age. I would be delighted to answer any questions, preferably by telephone. She can be driven for long distances; if you come from far away I can pick you up at Strasbourg station. Please contact me preferably by telephone. I do not wish to exchange her. I can also arrange delivery for a fee. Thank you for reading.
