Description
Furlonger are delighted to offer this remarkably well preserved Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary, ordered new via Portman Lamborghini Concessionaires in August 1989. Being 1 of just 67 right-hand drive 25th Anniversaries produced, chassis no. LA12585 is a particularly prominent example among the UK allocated cars, having been optioned in the highly collectible shade of Rosso Perlato, otherwise known as ‘Candy Apple Red’ - just two cars would leave the factory in this specification! Further, this example was optioned with 'panna con filetti rossi' or ‘cream with red piping’, and the profoundly rare option of factory sports seats.
We have been fortunate to handle the sale, purchase, maintenance and restoration of many Countachs in their guises, and we believe that the 25th Anniversary sits among the most desirable and collectible. This is one of the finest examples we have seen to date, one with a rare specification and well-documented history file.
Chassis no. LA12585’s primary custodian was Mr. Nicholas Asher, a British businessman renowned for his passion for cars and power boat racing. Mr. Asher previously owned a Countach Quattrovalvole which he subsequently sold to none other than musician Mr. Rod Stewart to make space for his newly acquired 25th Anniversary.
Naturally, this Countach 25th Anniversary changed hands between like-minded enthusiasts who sought to enjoy the car regularly but have ensured that it remained in the finest condition. It is accompanied by a well-documented history file comprising of various invoices, MOTs, original service handbook, manuals, Alpine instruction manual, leather wallet and tool roll.
Chassis no. LA 12585 underwent a major overhaul, with the engine and gearbox out, major ancillaries replaced and a full body and chassis re-spray. Works were completed in 2022 and are beautifully documented in a hard back book, reflecting what is now with a car in premium condition.
Now offered for sale by Furlonger, this is an exciting opportunity to own what is arguably one of the most collectible Lamborghinis produced, one with an exceptionally rare pearlescent colour scheme (‘Candy Apple Red’) and the unusual option of factory sports seats. Chassis no. LA12585 is without doubt one of the finest examples in the world today and would be the perfect addition to the very best of collections.
