1968 was a major year for the Corvette as it introduced the third-generation of the car. A completely redesigned bodywork and interior on an updated variant of the C2's widely adored chassis and available engines brought the car into the 1970s in style. Naturally, the Corvette offered a host of options - whether to orient the car more to track performance, touring, or drag racing - the prospective Corvette owner had a plethora of choices to tailor their car to their needs. Eleven engine options, ten paint choices, and seven interior colors ensured that almost no two Corvettes produced were alike.
The incredible 1969 Corvette Stingray L68 427/ 400hp Coupe featured here is finished in one-year-only Riverside Gold over a Black interior. This incredible motorcar has been meticulously maintained from new and is among one of the best original examples to come to market in years. When judged at an NCRS event in April 2024, the car received an absolutely astounding 92. 9 out of 100 points on their strictest scale - just barely missing the Top Flight requirement of 94 points. Many Corvettes featuring high-end restorations struggle to score nearly this high - it is nearly unheard of for an unrestored example to receive such an accolade. Since then, the two elements that detracted points (an incorrect battery and oil filter) have replaced, making the car an almost certain Top Flight winner should it be judged again.
