This C2 Convertible arrived here in the UK some 9 years ago and soon thereafter we sold the car to none other than Gliptone, the UK's leading car detailing products company. Since then the car has been regularly displayed on their stands at various shows including the CCCUK Nationals, as well as featured in Gliptone's full page Classic American ad. We have now taken the car back from them after their purchase from us of the most incredible '67 L88 tribute car imaginable.
So, this is a super clean 1964 manual C2 in red with black leather, and certainly very well priced. Good paint, good interior, good chrome, good undercarriage and a turn key C2 ready to use.
RECENT EXPENDITURE. In recent weeks the car has had a complete suspension rebuild, that's every single joint possible on the car replaced plus all a-arm new bushes, all ball joints, all steering joints, the idler arm, all four shock absorbers, then a new harmonic balancer, a new Cloyes double roller timing chain, the oil pan & valve cover gaskets were replaced, then a premium service on the whole car including gearbox & diff oil changes plus all brakes checked, stripped & cleaned. All invoices are in the folder.
WHEELS/ TYRES/ EXHAUST. The wheels are period Torque Thrust D's, all absolutely as new and fitted with very recent 215/ 75 whitewalls. The car has factory side exhausts and before you ask, the rear valance is the correct one with no cut outs.
So, that's about it, a nice early C2 and certainly not over-priced in today's market. In fact there are several C2's currently listed at £55K+ that are no better than this car. The engine bay presents very well and even the original twin snorkel air cleaner is still in place. Both headlights raise & lower well and in the cockpit you'll find most if not all the gauges are working, even the clock. The body gaps throughout are superb and the frame really presents well with no signs of past repairs, just all good.
