1958 Saab 93B
The Saab 93 achieved considerable success in rallying with Erik Carlsson finishing first in the 1957 Finland Rally and two years later he was to achieve first place in the Swedish Rally in a similar car. The Saab 93 went on to achieve numerous victories which earned this manufacturer considerable respect and today early Saabs are keenly sought by enthusiasts and collectors.
Production of the Saab 93 commenced in December 1955 and was the second production car manufactured by Saab. Saab were notable for their manufacture of aircraft having been in aviation since the 1930s. A total of 52, 751 Saab 93s were built before production ceased in 1960.
This example has undergone much restoration and it had a total body shell rebuild some years ago. A photographic record of this work is supplied.
The original 750 engine has been replaced by a slightly later 850cc unit.
