For sale is a beautiful tribute to the 1927 Bugatti Type 37A, carefully built over 15 years by a Bugatti enthusiast. The Bugatti Type 37 was introduced in late 1925 and only 286 Type 35s were produced in Molsheim, of which only 76 were the Supercharged variant, the Type 37A.
The supercharged Type 37A was introduced less than two years after the introduction of the Type 37 and the Roots Supercharger made a big difference: speeds of up to 120 mph and capable of taking on machines with far more power than the 1. 5 litre, 4 cylinder engine would imply: Grand Prix racing, the Targa Florio, Le Mans, the Mille Miglia to name but a few. All of these events saw the Type 37A battling it out with much more powerful machines, and often with Bugatti coming out on top.

This particular Bugatti T37A was completed at the end of 1999, a project that had then taken almost 15 years. It was built in Denmark by a well-known and respected Bugatti and classic car enthusiast. As the owner of other beautiful pre-war French cars, including Bugattis, building this 37A was truly a labour of love.
The build comprises only parts from reputable engineering companies in England and France, as well as original second-hand Bugatti parts collected from Rétromobile and Beaulieu over the years, often with the kind help of Erik Koux using his original Type 37 as a reference. Erik Koux is well known in Bugatti circles and also built the compressor for this car, one of five in a series. The car's components and construction have been accurately described in written notes that follow the car.

The Bugatti T37A is built to correct Type 37A Grand Prix specification with a supercharged 4 cylinder engine. engine capacity is 1486cc. The engine was assembled by an engineer in Sweden with extensive Bugatti experience, providing both spare parts, restoration work and Bugatti knowledge for nearly 30 to 40 years.
The Bugatti T37A includes: Roots type crank compressor with 1:1 ratio Original Zenith Type H36 carburettor Type 40 Magneto Scintilla Vertex intake manifold with 37A manual ignition timing Installed electric starter Standard aluminium Grand Prix bodywork.
Steering box mounted on appropriate base and set back to make room for compressor. Type 35/ Type 37A cast alloy spoked wheels with large 330mm diameter brake drums. Hollow front axle as specified on Type 35. Type 37A instrument panel with centre mounted magneto and correct instruments.
Original Marchal headlights fitted The Bugatti T37A is 'on the button' and ready for road or track use. In recent years, it has been frequently used and maintained by the current owner's mechanic.
Recognised by the Bugatti Owners Club and with chassis number BC 045 for historic registration.
