This Ford GPW was purchased by ourselves from the renowned Joe Lyndhurst military vehicle collection.
We then sold the Jeep to a retired motor vehicle engineer, who has owned and maintained the Vehicle since 1991 to present.
This particular Jeep was build on 26th February 1945, It is a full ‘matching numbers’ example, which means it retains its original chassis, original engine and original dash data plates and all numbers match.
This GPW has its original ACM2 body tub with stamped number, which dates the body to February 1945.
The body has original Ford wings, original Grille and original bonnet.
Inside the body is fitted with Ford drivers, passengers and rear seat.
The dash has an original late model 63MPH King Seeley speedometer, a original Stewart Warner short needle fuel gauge and Block ‘F’ Ammeter.
The original Ford engine number is clearly stamped and also has a casting date of February 1945.
Inside the engine bay can be found a GPW radiator, Carter Carburettor, correct late 5101-D dynamo, late model voltage regulator, dust proof type distributor, Original Ford Exhaust manifold, original Spartan Horn, the list goes on and on.
The Jeep is fitted with Firestone tyres, fitted to split combat wheel rims.
The accessory list is extensive, it includes, True temper US axe, US shovel, Ohio Brass aerial mount, Rifle holder, grease gun, lube chart, starting handle, ‘Eagle’ oil can, Fire Extinguisher, tow rope, canvas 1/ 2 doors, its is also equipped vacuum wiper motors and is supplied with a canvas hood.
This Ford runs and drives very well, it has a correct 6 volt electrical system and starts exceptionally well.
It is UK registered with V5c present.
