BMW launched the 2 Series range of models in November 2013, by spinning off the Coupé and Cabriolet models from the 1 Series range. The initial front-engined, rear-wheel drive offerings were followed by a 5-seat compact MPV based on a MINI chassis, which was in turn backed up by a 7-seater Gran Tourer.
The 2 Series Convertibles and Coupés utilised much of BMW’s engine portfolio, ranging from the 220 to the M235i and then the M240. A turbo-charged straight six-powered M2 Coupé topped the entire model range.
The car:
This superb 220i Sport Coupé sits resplendent in its Metallic Black Sapphire coachwork with high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim and has matching Black Dakota Leather interior and anthracite headlining, with the driver comfort package and brushed aluminium interior trim.
